About
My name is Lisa Maxfield
I am a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. I was first drawn to yoga as an undergraduate student, while studying classical voice. Breathwork, body alignment, movement, chant and meditation have played a continuing role in my career as a musician and educator within studio, classroom and community settings.

I completed my Yoga teacher training in 2022 through Healium Hot Yoga in Bay View, Milwaukee and pursued additional professional development as an apprentice of Meg Lucks at Heart Revival Center for Buddhist Studies in St. Francis Wisconsin. I also studied Thai Bodywork (sometimes called Thai Yoga or Thai Massage) under Ricky Heldt of Lotus Palm Yoga.

I have a Bachelors of Vocal Music from North Central College in Naperville Illinois and a Masters of Music from Northern Illinois University, specializing in Music Education and World Music Studies. During my graduate work I studied abroad in Bali, pursuing field research in the role of community performing arts ensembles while studying Gamelan and Dance with Pak Made Lasmawan and Pak Ngurah Kertayuda.

My career as a musician has included multiple roles as a performer, coach, educator, conductor, composer and arranger. I have over 15 years of experience teaching music and directing ensembles within K-12 schools, churches, communities and professional arts organizations within Illinois and Wisconsin. I currently sing with the Master Singers of Milwaukee and have served as a section leader, and on their artistic programming committee. I continue to teach private voice and piano, and direct the music ensembles for Trinity Lutheran Church in South Milwaukee.
